Working with Event Log messages for a web farm
To view the messages:
- Select Server Management.
- Under Server Management, select Event Log Messages.
The Event Log Messages workspace appears.
- Click Export.
A dialog box appears.
- Select a start date and time and an end date and time.
- Click Browse.
The Save As dialog box appears.
- Type a file name, browse to a location, and click Save.
- Click OK.
After the file is created, a message informs you of the number of messages that it contains.
- Open and review the file.
To change the default limit for the number of entries in the log:
Note: Changing the default limit for the number of entries in the log does not affect the Event Log on the application server. This limit applies only to the information that has been collected from all of the application servers and saved in the database.
- Select Server Management.
- Under Server Management, select Event Log Messages.
The Event Log Messages workspace appears.
- In Maximum Rows in Database, type the number to use as the limit.
To delete all entries in the log:
- Select Server Management.
- Under Server Management, select Event Log Messages.
The Event Log Messages workspace appears.
- Click Purge.
A dialog box appears.
- Choose one of the following options:
- To delete all messages, select Purge All.
- To delete all messages before a specific date, select the date from the Before Date drop-down list.
