Configuring Initiative-Specific Pull-down Values

Within EnterpriseTrack there can be two types of pull-down values, global and initiative specific. In systems that have a single initiative, the global fields are not distinguished from the initiative specific ones.

Creating Initiative-Specific Pull-down Values

  1. Click the Application Configuration tab.
  2. In the Pulldown Values section, click on the type of pull-down value you want to create. Choose from Note Type, Task Type, Tool Type, Document Type and Metric Type.
  3. Click the Create a New button.
  4. Choose an initiative.
  5. Enter a name for the value. This name will be displayed in the pull-down menus across the system.
  6. For Metric Type values:
    1. Select if you want this metric to be the default primary metric.
    2. Enter a low value.
    3. Enter a high value.
  7. If applicable, enter a sort ID for this value. The sort ID determines the order in which the values are displayed in the pull-down menu.
  8. Click Create.

Editing initiative-specific pull-down values

  1. Click the Application Configuration tab.
  2. In the Pulldown Values section, click on the type of initiative pull-down value you want to edit. Choose from Note type, Task Type, Tool Type, Metric Type and Document Type.
  3. You will see a list of existing values for each initiative in the system. For example, if you selected Task Type you will see a list of the task types that have already been defined in the system for each initiative.
  4. Click on the name of the value you want to edit.
  5. In the Edit page make the required changes.
  6. For each value select Valid, Invalid, or Archived. Values that are marked Valid are displayed in the UI as valid options; invalid values are not displayed in the system and users will be forced to pick a valid value when the entity is edited. Archived values are maintained in the system, but are not displayed as valid options. Users can continue to use archived values until they change it.
  7. Click Update.

Deleting initiative-specific pull-down values

Once created, initiative pull-down values cannot be deleted. They can only be marked as Invalid or Archived.
