Changing the Start Date of a Project

To change the Project Start date:

  1. Navigate to the Project Dates page within a project by clicking on the Dates link in the Left Navigation Bar, or from the Project Module Menu (Project #) select Go To > Dates.
  2. From the Edit menu select Start Date. In the Planned Vs Actual Dates section, make the appropriate changes. You will also have to tell the system how you want these changes to affect the financial tracking and due dates.
  3. How should shifting the Start Date affect Financial Data?
    • Clear Financial Data for all the months - this will clear the financial data entered for all the months - all fields will be made blank.
    • Clear Financial Data for only the months that are no longer in the project - E.g. If you moved your project start date from July 1 to Sept 1, the system will delete the data for July and August.
    • Shift Financial data - E.g. If you moved your project start date from July 1 to Sept 1, the system will shift the financial data for July to September, for August to October and so on.
  4. Should shifting the Start Date also shift Due Dates?
    • Select Yes or No as appropriate.
  5. Click Update to save the changes.

Note: If you are unable to make changes to this page, make sure you have the required permission (Actual Project Start Can Differ from Planned Project Start). Contact your administrator for more information.
