2 Initial installation requirements

This chapter lists specific instructions for installation of the Oracle software components that are required to run OHI Components applications.

See the Certification information that is published on My Oracle Support for specific versions of operating systems and Oracle software that OHI Components are certified to work with.

All OHI Components releases contain complete applications. The only difference between installing an OHI Components for the first time and upgrading to a new release, is thus the pre-installation activities (which only need to be executed when installing an OHI Component for the first time).

When the initial installation requirements are met, continue with the chapter Release Installation.

2.1 Required and Optional Software

2.1.1 Required Software

The following table lists the Oracle software that is required in order to execute OHI Components:

For the Oracle Database and Oracle WebLogic server make sure to always apply the latest Critical Patch Updates.

The Oracle Database and Oracle WebLogic server as well the ADF runtime libraries need to be installed. Oracle TopLink and Coherence are bundled with each release of OHI Components and do not require a separate installation. Make sure to check Certifications on My Oracle Support for the following:

• Certified operating systems for the Oracle Database and Oracle WebLogic server
• Certified Java runtime versions
• Certified browsers
