Upgrading Apache Tomcat Manually

When you install Siebel Marketing, Apache Tomcat, used with Siebel Email Marketing, is also installed. The version of Apache Tomcat that is installed depends on your Siebel Marketing release:

• For Siebel CRM 8.1 and 8.2: Apache Tomcat Version 7.0.14
• For Siebel CRM release 8.0: Apache Tomcat Version 6.0.16

If you want to take advantage of security updates included in later versions of Apache Tomcat, you can update the version of Apache Tomcat you received with Siebel Marketing. For example, for Siebel CRM 8.1 and later, you can upgrade to Apache Tomcat 7.0.40, or for Siebel CRM 8.0, you can upgrade to Apache Tomcat 6.0.37.

The following procedure describes how to manually upgrade your version of Apache Tomcat.

To upgrade Apache Tomcat manually

1. Download and install the version of Apache Tomcat you want to install from

   http://tomcat.apache.org/

   Make sure that you can run Apache Tomcat by itself when no other applications are deployed in the Apache Tomcat container.

2. Copy the directory esd_installation_directory/webapps/esd to the Apache Tomcat webapps directory.
3. Copy each of the JAR files, exe files, sh files and xml files from the following directories to the Apache Tomcat installation directory:
   • esd_installation_directory\bin
   • esd_installation_directory\conf
   • esd_installation_directory\lib
4. Copy the esd.properties file and the log4j.props file to the Apache Tomcat home directory.
