Innovative Strategic Project

Lewis Tree Service Blooms with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.2

When the leadership team at Lewis Tree Service decided to replace the company’s unsupported legacy system, the Vegetation Management Services business selected Oracle JD Edwards.

“We were seeking a platform that would allow us to scale effectively as we continue to grow our business. We invested in JD Edwards for our operations across North America based on its ability to seamlessly integrate multiple functions into one system and eliminate the constraints of our legacy systems. ”

During the new implementation project, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.2 was released. The team was able to pivot quickly and upgrade to the latest release of JD Edwards during the implementation.

Working with Terillium, Lewis Tree went live on Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.2 on May 2, 2016.

Lewis Tree is already enjoying new business benefits from JD Edwards, such as:

  • Centralized general ledger with integrated job costing
  • Streamlined billing process
  • Automated manual processes
  • More efficient equipment maintenance

The primary modules implemented included: Financial Management (GL, AR, and AP), Fixed Assets and Fleet Management, Expense Management, Project Costing and Contract Management, Procurement, Human Resources (Canada), and Canadian Payroll.

Phase two of the project will focus on the implementation of the following: Human Resources (US), US Payroll, Taleo, Health and Safety Incident Management, and Mobile Applications.

Lewis Tree plans to use mobile applications to provide field employees access to the JD Edwards software. The plan is to roll out mobile apps for time entry and health and safety. Lewis Tree will also use mobile apps for fleet management, service work orders (preventative maintenance), and job cost updates.

Because Lewis Tree is a customer-centric organization, they have many customized processes for managing the complexity of specific customer engagements. JD Edwards provided them the flexibility to manage these customer nuances more effectively with less manual intervention.
