Innovative Strategic Project

Continued Investment in JD Edwards Drives Savings and Efficiencies

  • On May 31st , Stewart & Stevenson extended its JD Edwards EnterpriseOne footprint to one of its latest acquisitions, Florida Detroit Diesel-Allison (FDDA). Besides Florida sun, our users now enjoy the modern Alta UI and can utilize EnterpriseOne 9.1 to streamline and optimize their day-to -day operations, inventory control, financial control, and overall user experience.
  • By extending our JDE platform, we have created significant IT and business savings. Savings were achieved by “Sunsetting” an antiquated AS/400 system, and by enabling employees to share information across companies, thus allowing collaboration on sales, inventory reductions and the sharing of best practices.
  • The upgrade was executed by S & S internal resources and was a smooth transition. In fact, by the 3rd week, our issue call was less than 15 minutes!
  • The ability to easily consolidate acquisitions into JD Edwards validates that our platform is scalable, and is flexible enough to support other industry verticals outside of Oil & Gas.
  • Although we would like to relish our success, we are moving on to upgrade to the 9.2 Tools release this summer! This will allow us to deploy more tenant mobility apps using E1 pages to compliment the PO and Credit Approval apps already in production.
  • Next stop will be replacing the ERP system for another acquisition, Atlantic Detroit Diesel, with six branches in the Northeast in Q1, 2017!
