The Road to Business Transformation
Change Was Needed
In early 2015, the Senior Management team at Weingarten Realty realized there was a need for a consolidated ERP system that:
- Was highly scalable and adaptable to support current business needs
- Had growth opportunity with the technology trend gearing toward cloud-based solution
Weingarten went through a rapid but thorough system selection process and decided to select:
- JD Edwards Enterprise One 9.2 version as the core Accounting and Financial system
- Oracle Sales Cloud as the CRM solution to streamline the Lead to Lease process
Weingarten also decided to move away from the infrastructure business by partnering with Velocity to:
- Host JD Edwards
- Handle managed services
Humongous Challenge Eased with Strategic Partnerships
Recognizing the task of transforming fully automated and over-customized systems with the total lifespan of 50+ years in the course of 12 months is humongous, Weingarten engaged:
- GPG Advisers to help design and implement JD Edwards
- Circular Edge to build the Oracle Sales Cloud as opportunity tracking system and a custom Lead to Lease module in JDE.
- Weingarten also purchased and implemented the Transform AP solution from Bottomline Technologies.
The Success and Next Steps
The Weingarten ERP program with multiple projects under its umbrella went live on time on July 19th and remained within original estimated budget.
Phase 2 for Weingarten is to have a thorough Governance Framework established with the focus on accurate data, standard reports, and streamlined business processes. Advanced Real Estate Forecast (AREF) is also the new module scheduled to be implemented in 2017.
