Inactivating a dictionary

Inactive dictionaries remain in the list of dictionaries for a connection and can be reactivated if necessary. You must inactivate a dictionary before you can delete it.

  1. Select Start > Program Files > Phase Forward > Central Coding > Dictionary Loader.

The Dictionary Loader dialog box appears.

  2. Select a connection and connect to the database.

For more information, see Connecting to the database.

  3. Select the Dictionaries node for the active connection.
  4. Select a dictionary.
  5. Select Dictionary > Inactivate.

The dictionary status changes to INACTIVE. The dictionary is defined and data is loaded into the schema, but the dictionary is not available for coding.
