Migrating an existing installation to a new application server
Use this procedure to migrate a Central Coding installation from an older release running on a 32-bit server to the current release running on a 64-bit server:
- Prepare the new server.
For more information, see:
- Central Coding 3.1 supports Oracle 11.2.0.4 and higher. If necessary, upgrade the Oracle database software, or migrate it to a new database server.
- On the old application server, upgrade the Central Coding application to release 3.1.
- On the old application server, disable all jobs.
- Install the Central Coding application on the new server. During the installation, select the options for using the existing Coding, Platform, and Dictionary Database users. For more information, see Installing a Central Coding application server.
- Make sure jobs are running on the new application server.
- Uninstall the Central Coding application from the old server.
