Migrating an existing installation to a new application server

Use this procedure to migrate a Central Coding installation from an older release running on a 32-bit server to the current release running on a 64-bit server:

  1. Prepare the new server.

    For more information, see:

  2. Central Coding 3.1 supports Oracle 11.2.0.4 and higher. If necessary, upgrade the Oracle database software, or migrate it to a new database server.
  3. On the old application server, upgrade the Central Coding application to release 3.1.
  4. On the old application server, disable all jobs.
  5. Install the Central Coding application on the new server. During the installation, select the options for using the existing Coding, Platform, and Dictionary Database users. For more information, see Installing a Central Coding application server.
  6. Make sure jobs are running on the new application server.
  7. Uninstall the Central Coding application from the old server.
