The Background color property allows you to control the background color of your web page. This property uses the standard Color dialog box for selecting colors. See Select a Color in the Web Page Defaults section of the Get Started using the Developer chapter for more information on the Color dialog box.

Note: When you create a web page, the No Color option on the Color dialog box is checked by default since the page has either no color or a color assigned from a style. You can set the background color or override a style color on a web page, by unchecking the No Color option and selecting a color.

ProcedureTo set the web page background color:

  1. Display the Properties toolpane.

  2. From the Library or Outline Editor, select the web page to set the background.

You can select multiple documents using the standard Windows selection keys (CTRL+click and SHIFT+click). However, all documents included in your selection must have the same language.

  3. In the General category, click Browse in the Background color cell.

  4. Select the desired color.

  5. Click OK.
