Customize the Layout

After completing this topic, you will be able to customize the Topic Editor layout.

Steps:

1. When toolpanes are stacked, you can use the toolpane tab to display a hidden toolpane.

    

   Click the Sound Editor tab.

2. Drag the Sound Editor toolpane off the dock and float it in the middle of the screen.

    

   Press the left mouse button on the Sound Editor tab and drag the toolpane off the dock.

3. Release the mouse button.

   Step 3

4. Dock the Sound Editor toolpane to the right of the Frame Structure toolpane.

    

   Press the left mouse button on the Sound Editor title bar and drag the toolpane to the bottom dock.

   Step 4

5. A shadow appears showing you where the toolpane will be docked.

    

   Release the mouse button.

   Step 5

6. Restore the default layout.

    

   Click the View menu.

   Step 6

7. Click the Restore Default Layout command.

   Step 7

8. Display the Sound Editor toolpane.

    

   Click the Sound Editor tab.

   Step 8

9. You can close toolpanes that you are not using. Since you are not recording sound, close the Sound Editor toolpane.

    

   Click the Close button on the Sound Editor title bar.

10. Click the fifth F circle in the Frame Structure toolpane.

    Step 10

11. Display the Frame Comments toolpane.

     

    Click the Frame Comments tab.

    Step 11

12. Notice the text in the Author Notes pane. This text was added to this frame when the topic was recorded.

13. Close the Frame Comments toolpane.

     

    Click the Close button on the Frame Comments title bar.
