Create Custom Bullets


After completing this topic, you will be able to create custom bullet styles in the style sheet.


Steps:

  1. We have added a new bulleted style named Custom Bullets. Add custom bullet images for Levels 1, 2, and 3.

  2. Level 1 is already selected. Add an image from a package in the Library.

     

    Click the List type button.

  4. Navigate to the Content/Attachments folder.

     

    Double-click the Content folder.

  6. Open the Customer Files package and the Images and Logos folder.

     

    Double-click the Customer Files package.

  7. Double-click the Images and Logos list item.

  8. Add the triangle.gif image.

  10. The custom image is applied to the selected bullet level.

  11. Add another image to Level 2.

     

    Click the List level button.

  13. Add a new bullet image from the Training Files folder on your computer.

     

    Click the List type button.

  14. Notice that the triangle.gif bullet is now included in the List type menu. You can use this custom bullet for other levels in the same style or in other bulleted styles.

     

    Also note that the package name and folder appears next to the image name.

  15. Add a new image.

     

    Click the Add image list item.

  16. Add an image from a file on your computer.

     

    Click the File on My Computer link.

  17. We have opened the Training Files folder for you.

     

    Click the bullseye.png list item.

  19. The bullseye graphic is added as a bullet image for Level 2.

  20. We have selected Level 3. Add another image from your computer for the Level 3 bullet.

     

    Click the List type button.

  24. Custom bullets added from files on your computer are embedded in the style sheet. Even if they are not used, they remain embedded in the style sheet until you delete them from the style sheet.

     

    Package bullets only remain in the style sheet if they are used in a style. While you can manually delete them from the style sheet, it is not necessary. If none of the styles in the style sheet use a package bullet, the Style Editor removes the package bullet from the style sheet the next time you open it. The image is not deleted from the package.

  25. Delete a custom bullet from the style sheet.

     

    Click the List type button.

  27. Delete the key custom bullet.

     

    Note: You can delete multiple images.

     

    Click the key.gif option.
