Insert a Hyperlink to a URL

After completing this topic, you will be able to insert a hyperlink to a URL.

Steps:

1. Hyperlink the word "Orientation" to a URL.

    

   Double-click the word Orientation to select it.

   Step 1

2. Click the Hyperlink button.

   Step 2

3. Click the Browse button.

   Step 3

4. Click the URL link.

   Step 4

5. Click in the Address field.

   Step 5

6. Enter the desired information into the Address field. Enter

    a valid value
    e.g.
    "http://www.w3.org"
   .
   Step 6

7. Use the Go button to preview the URL.

    

   Click the Go button.

   Step 7

8. Once the URL is working, click OK to add the URL to the text.

    

   Click the OK button.

   Step 8

9. Click the OK button to insert the hyperlink.

   Step 9

10. The presence of the hyperlink is indicated by the underlining of the selected text.

     

    You can also link to a web site that is saved in a package.

    Step 10

11. Select the text Margins in the bulleted list and create a hyperlink.

     

    Double-click in the Margins field.

12. Click the Hyperlink button.

13. Browse to the Content/Attachments folder and open the WSG Files package.

     

    Click the Browse button.

14. Click the Document in Library link.

15. Double-click the Content folder.

    Step 15

16. Double-click the WSG Files package.

17. Open the WSG Website folder, select Default.htm file.

     

    Double-click the WSG Website folder.

18. Click the Default.htm list item.

19. Click the OK button.

20. Add the tooltip WSG Website.

     

    Click in the Tooltip field.

21. Enter the desired information into the Tooltip field. Enter

     a valid value
     e.g.
     "WSG Website"

22. Click the OK button to insert the hyperlink.

23. Linking to a web site saved in a package means that you do not have to worry about connection issues because packages and web pages are included with published content.
