Preview a Web Page


After completing this topic, you will be able to preview a web page in a browser and in print.


Steps:

  1. The Web Page Editor is set for a Player display.

  2. Use the Open in Browser button on the toolbar to display the web page in a browser.

     

    Click the Open in Browser button.

  3. You can preview in an installed browser.

     

    Internet Explorer is already selected, click the Open button.

  4. The web page opens in a browser window.

  5. Close the browser using the close button.

     

    Click the Close button.

  6. Change the web page display to Print.

     

    Click the button to the right of the Display field.

  7. Click the Print list item.

  8. If the style sheet also contains print styles, the print attributes appear directly in the Web Page Editor. You can also use the Open in Browser button to view your print format in a browser.

  9. Change the display back to Player.

     

    Click the button to the right of the Display field.

  10. Click the Player list item.

  11. Use the Preview list to preview the web page in a Training Guide.

     

    Click the Preview button.

  12. While all publishing formats appear in the Preview list, you can only preview those document formats that include web pages.

     

    Click the Training Guide list item.

  13. The preview of the Training Guide opens in Microsoft Word. We have scrolled to the web page content for you.

     

    Notice the Page Numbers and Paper Size headings at the bottom of the page.

  14. Close the Training Guide preview.

     

    Click the Close button.

  15. Insert a forced page break before the Page Numbers heading using the toolbar button.

     

    Click at the beginning of the Page Numbers text.

  16. Click the Insert Page Break for Printing button.

  17. The forced page break appears in the web page.

  18. Save the web page using the toolbar.

     

    Click the Save button.

  19. To save time we have republished the Training Guide preview to show the change.

     

    Notice that the Page Numbers heading is now on the next page instead of appearing below the Paper Source heading.
