Record Sound in a Web Page using the Sound Editor

After completing this topic, you will be able to record sound in the Web Page Editor.

Steps:

  1. You can add sound when you create a new web page or edit an existing web page. In this example, you will edit the web page in the Concept pane.

Click the Edit web page button.

    Step 1
  2. The Sound Editor toolpane opens when the web page opens. If the Sound Editor does not appear in the Web Page Editor, you can select the View menu, the Panes command, and the Sound Editor command to display it.

Notice the empty waveform in the Sound Editor.

    Step 2
  3. Record the sound for the web page.

    Click the Record sound button.

    Step 3
  4. The Sound Recorder opens with the Sound button activated. You can start recording immediately.

    Step 4

  5. Notice that we have already recorded 15 seconds of sound. If you see that your recording levels are not falling in the "Optimal" range, you can pause the recording and adjust the microphone volume.

    Step 5

  6. Pause the sound recording.

    Click the Pause button.

    Step 6
  7. The Sound Tuning Wizard button is available to adjust the playback and recording levels when you pause the recording.

Note: See Adjust Sound Controls in the Edit Sound section for information about using the Sound Tuning Wizard.

    Step 7

  8. After adjusting the sound levels, you can either resume recording or restart the recording from the beginning with the new sound recording level.

Notice that we have already recorded 15 seconds.

    Click the Restart button.

    Step 8
  9. After clicking Restart, the recording counter resets to 00:00:00. The recording does not restart until you click Resume.

Before clicking the Resume button, you can speak into your microphone to see if your sound levels are reaching a good modulation and then readjust the volume level as needed. Until you click Resume, your sound is not recorded.

    Step 9

  10. Start recording.

    Click the Resume button.

    Step 10
  11. Record the sound for the entire web page.

    Step 11

  12. When you finish recording, close the Sound Recorder.

    Click the OK button.

    Step 12
