Change List Types


After completing this topic, you will be able to format a bulleted list.


Steps:

  1. Select the three bullets under Word Wrap, from No wrap to Wrap to ruler.

     

    Click in the No wrap text.

  2. Press the [Shift] key and click in the Wrap to ruler text.

  3. Increase the indent for the bullets.

     

    Click the Increase Indent button.

  4. Notice the different bullets used for the levels.

  5. Increase the indent for the four bullets under Measurement units, from Inches to Picas.

     

    Click in the Inches text.

  6. Press the [Shift] key and click in the Picas text.

  8. Change the bullet used for the Level 1 bullets using the context menu.

     

    Right-click in the Word Wrap field.

  10. Change the bullet style to Square.

     

    Click the Type list.

  13. Notice that both Level 1 bullets changed.

  14. Use the Context menu to change the bullet type of the sub-level bullets under Word Wrap.

     

    Right-click in the Wrap to window text.

  16. Change the bullet type to a Disc.

  19. Notice that only the bullets under Word Wrap change. Each level under a parent level is treated independently.

     

    To save time we will change the bullets under Measurement units to Disc for you.

  20. To make the list easier to read, add 12 points of spacing Before the Measurement units bullet.

     

    Click in the Measurement units text.

     a valid value
     e.g.

  24. Click in an item in the Word Wrap bulleted list and view the bullet styles in the Styles list.

  26. The Standard style sheet includes several styles that use custom bullet images. Apply the Presentation star style to the bulleted list.

     

    Click the Presentation star 3 levels - Bulleted List list item.

  27. The 3-level styles apply different size fonts and different size bullet images for each level.
