Step 8Click the Square list item.
Step 9When you apply text and paragraph formatting to a Level, the formatting applies to that level and is inherited by all subordinate levels. For example, if you format Level 3, the formatting is inherited by Levels 4 and 5.
To format the text for the entire list, format Level 1.
Step 10Add space above each bulleted level and increase the left indent.
Click the Spacing button.
Step 11Add 6 points of spacing before each bulleted list item.
Enter the desired information into the Before field. Enter "6".
Step 12Add a left indent.
Click in the Indentation Left field.
Step 13Add 12 points as the left indent.
Enter the desired information into the Indentation Left field. Enter "12".

Step 24The Style Inspector shows that the bulleted list has inherited 40 pixels of left padding from the browser defaults.
The 12 point left indent plus the 40 pixels of left padding produces a larger indent for Levels 2-5 than desired.
Reduce the left padding for Level 2.
Step 25Click the Padding button.
Step 26Since the padding is inherited, the value does not appear in the Padding dialog box. Set the Left padding to 10 points.
Click in the Left field.
Step 27Enter the desired information into the Left field. Enter
Click the OK button.
Step 29You do not need to format the text and paragraph attributes for Levels 3, 4 and 5. All text and paragraph formatting applied to Level 2 is inherited by the subordinate levels.

Step 31Click the Level 3 list item.
Step 32Click the List type button.

Step 35Click the Level 4 list item.
Step 36Click the List type button.
Step 37You want the same list type for for Levels 3, 4 and 5.
Since Level 3 is already formatted for a None setting, you can use the Inherit setting for Level 4.
When you apply an Inherit setting, the subordinate level always inherits the list type from the parent level. If you change the parent level bullet, the change affects the subordinate level as well.
Step 38Change the list type for Level 4 to Inherit.
Click the Inherit list item.
Step 39Level 4 inherits the setting from Level 3.
Step 40We have also applied the Inherit setting to Level 5.
