Link a Concept to a New Web Page


After completing this topic, you will be able to create and link a new web page as a concept in the Outline Editor.


Steps:

  1. Select the document for which you want to create and link a new web page.

     

    Click the Printing a Document topic.

  2. Click the Create new web page button in the Concept pane.

  3. Browse to the Library location in which you want to store the web page.

     

    We have opened this folder for you.

  4. Enter the desired information into the Name field. Enter "Printing".

  5. Click the Save button.

  6. The new Printing web page opens in the Web Page Editor with the Style Inspector toolpane on the right and a blue Element Path bar at the bottom. You can now enter the information you want to appear in the web page.

  7. To save time, we have entered the text for you.

  8. The Style Inspector shows that you are using an Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif font family with a font size of 10 points. This is the default Document Body setting for web pages linked to the Standard style sheet. The default paragraph style sets the spacing before and after paragraphs to 8 points.

  9. Press [Enter] to create a new paragraph.

  10. Enter the desired information into the web page. Enter "You can also print individual pages.".

  11. Select the word "pages".

     

    Double-click the word "pages" to select it.

  12. Use the Font Size list on the toolbar to change the size to 12 points.

  14. Change the color of the text to Red.

  20. Click in the word "pages" in the web page to see the changes.

  21. Notice that your manually applied formatting is listed under the Direct formatting section in the Style Inspector toolpane.

  22. You can change the background of the entire web page with the Properties toolpane.

     

    To save time we have opened the Properties toolpane for you.

  23. Change the background color of the web page using the properties toolpane.

     

    Click in the Background color field.

  25. Click the Silver list item in the Web Colors section.

  27. The web page background now appears with a silver background.

  28. Change the background color of the web page to "No color" using the properties toolpane.

     

    Click in the Background color field.

    The No Color option resets the color to the default set by the style sheet.

    Click the Save button.
