Ways to Mask Data


After completing this topic, you will be able to use overlays to mask data.


Steps:

  1. You can remove sensitive information by masking it. Mask the four lines of the Worldwide Sporting Goods address using a Rectangle.

     

    Click the Shapes button.

  2. Click the Rectangle list item.

  3. Drag a Rectangle over the Worldwide Sporting Goods address.

     

    Press the left mouse button and drag the mouse to select the desired text.

  4. Release the mouse button.

  5. Change the color of the rectangle to white to match the page background.

     

    Click the Shape Fill button.

  6. Click the White, Background 1 list item.

  7. Remove the color border around the rectangle.

     

    Click the Shape Outline button.

  8. Click the No Outline option.

  9. Click outside of the rectangle to deselect it.

     

    Click the desired object.

  10. The text is masked.

     

    You can also use images to mask parts of an application that may have changed or screenshots that captured the incorrect options.
