Steps:
Publish the WordPad Training module for a Player deployment.
Step 1Use the menu to start the publishing process.
Click the File menu.
Step 2Click the Publish command.
Step 3Notice that the default publishing location is a subfolder in your Documents folder.
Step 4Publish to the default publishing destination.
Click the Next > button.
Step 5By default, the Publish entire outline and Skip advanced options page options are selected.
Click the Next > button to publish with the selected defaults.
Step 6Choose the desired deployment option.
Click the Player and LMS checkbox to publish a Player deployment.
Step 7Notice that the Player options allow users to change their Player preferences and skip steps in Try It! mode. In addition, Try It! is set as the default playback mode.
Step 8Publish a Player deployment with the default publishing options.
Click the Publish button.
Step 9The Publishing Process begins publishing the Player Package.
Step 10When the publishing process is completed, you can either open the publishing folder; launch the content; configure in-application support options, if applicable; or close the Publishing Wizard.
Step 11Click the link below Your local player can be viewed using: to launch the content.
Step 12Select the desired browser for the player. In this example, we will use Internet Explorer.
Click the Internet Explorer option.
Step 13Click the OK button.
Step 14The Player opens in a browser window.
We have expanded the outline in the Player for you.
Step 15Select a topic and start a playback mode.
Click Opening a Document.
Step 16Click the Try It! button.
Step 17Click the start link.
Step 18The first frame appears. Because the option is enabled, users can press Enter to skip steps instead of performing the required action.
Press [Enter] to advance to the next step.
Step 19End the topic playback using the Escape key.
Press [Escape].
Step 20Double-click the Opening a Document topic.
Step 21Double-clicking opens the topic in the default playback mode, which in this case is Try It! mode.
Press [Escape] to close the topic playback.
Step 22View the Try It! jump-in points for the Opening a Document topic.
Click the arrow to the right of the Try It! button.
Step 23Start the topic at the jump-in point.
Click the Open dialog box link.
Step 24The topic opens with the jump-in point frame as the first frame.
The jump-in point is also available for playback in See It! and Do It! modes.
Press [Escape] to close the topic playback.
Step 25View the Print It! output for the Opening a Document topic.
Click the Print It! button.
Step 26The HTML file for the Job Aid opens in a browser window. Close the browser window.
Click the Close button.
Step 27Search for topics that contain the word "print".
Click in the Search text box.
Step 28Enter the desired information into the Search field. Enter "print".
Step 29Click the Begin search of specific word or words button.
Step 30The documents that meet the search filter appear in a list view, without the outline hierarchy.
Step 31Click the View filtered outline link to view the topics in the hierarchy.
Step 32Click the View list link to remove the hierarchy.
Step 33Click the Clear search results button to remove the search filter.
Step 34Click the Preferences button to view the user changeable options.
Step 35By default, users can change their preferences. The Preferences button does not appear if you disable this option.
Step 36Click the Cancel button to close the Preferences window.
Step 37Close the Player.
