Overview
Oracle Retail Data Extractor (ORDE) provides data extraction capabilities for sourcing data from various Oracle Retail application data sources into a flat file format that facilitates loading into the Oracle Retail Insights family of analytic applications.
The primary characteristics of the Oracle Retail Data Extractor are:
n Source Integration Solution: The Retail Data Extractor provides data integration with source applications such as Oracle Retail Merchandising Foundation Cloud Service.
n Performant ETL Code: The Retail Data Extractor data processing tool, Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), offers high performance for the database batch processes on an Oracle database.
n Extensibility: The Retail Data Extractor ETL code can be customized and extended for client-specific needs.
Oracle Retail Cloud Services and Business Agility
Oracle Retail Cloud Service is hosted in the Oracle Cloud with the security features inherent to Oracle technology and a robust data center classification, providing significant uptime. The Oracle Cloud team is responsible for installing, monitoring, patching, and upgrading retail software.
Included in the service is continuous technical support, access to software feature enhancements, hardware upgrades, and disaster recovery. The Cloud Service model helps to free customer IT resources from the need to perform these tasks, giving retailers greater business agility to respond to changing technologies and to perform more value-added tasks focused on business processes and innovation.
Oracle Retail Software Cloud Service is acquired exclusively through a subscription service (SaaS) model. This shifts funding from a capital investment in software to an operational expense. Subscription-based pricing for retail applications offers flexibility and cost effectiveness.

Functional Enhancements
The functional enhancements below are included in this release.
Item Diff Aggregates
Retail Inights now creates an internal level between Item Level 1 and Item Level 2, which aligns with the Oracle Retail Merchandising System (RMS) concept of item diff aggregates. This level is constructed using the combination of differentiators selected as aggregates in RMS. For example, if Item Level 1 represents a Style and the item diff aggregate is Color, then reporting on the Item Diff Aggregate level is equivalent to Style/Color.
To achieve this functionality, the interface in ORDE has been enhanced to extract the Item-Diff relationship from RMS.

Functional Enhancements
The functional enhancements below are included in this release.
Item Season Phase Functionality
The interface has been enhanced to extract the Item-Season-Phase relationship from RMS. Previously this was limited to Item-Season relationships.
Configurable End of Record Delimiter for Data Interfaces
RDE has been enhanced to utilize a configurable end-of-record delimiter to indicate the end of the record. This can be configured as one of the application parameters (carriage return is the default value). The job to construct sql*loader source flat files should be able to handle the configurable end-of-record parameter in order to construct correct flat files.

Unavailable Inventory Integration
n Unavailable inventory refers to inventory held at a location which cannot be sold to customers. This could be due to a variety of reasons, such as damaged goods, pending returns to vendor, or any other code used in RMS. This information is captured at two levels in RMS:
- Current unavailable inventory by status code is written to INV_STATUS_QTY.QTY
- Daily rollups of all unavailable inventory are written to ITEM_LOC_SOH.NON_SELLABLE_QTY
n This data will be extracted from RMS via newly added Retail Data Extractor programs.
