Release Notes

Release16.0

F41828-01

December 2016

This document highlights the major changes for Release 16.0 of the Oracle Retail Sales Audit.

Overview

Oracle Retail Sales Audit (ReSA) provides the tools to evaluate point-of-sale data to ensure the accuracy and completeness of information exported to downstream systems used in optimization processes, financial reporting, and analysis.

Hardware and Software Requirements

See the Oracle Retail Sales Audit Installation Guide for information about the following:

Functional Enhancements

The functional enhancements below are included in this release.

Exception-based Retailing

Beginning with version 14.1 ReSA began offering a set of dashboard and in-context operational reports defined for the Auditor user. These reports were built in the OBIEE (Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition) technology which required a separate license. With version 16, these reports have been rebuilt in ADF DVT (Application Development Framework Data Visualization Tools) and are included as part of the application license. Retailers can also use the framework provided to build reports in their preferred technology - or even link to other sources, such as a news or social media feed.

Mass Audit Error Resolution

ReSA automatically identifies sales and returns transaction conditions and errors to ensure that retailers can make necessary corrections before final financial recording and passing on to other systems. Working with large sales volumes, a retailer may find multiple occurrences of the same error, such as a data issue related to an improper promotion ID. With Release 16.0, users in ReSA now have the ability to resolve multiple instances of the same error across an entire store day, or even across stores for a day, in a single action allowing users to focus more of their time on unique and critical issues.

Updated Data Loading Capabilities

ReSA v15.0.x had the ability to manage certain RMS-related data entities from the Manage Admin Data capability. In v16.0 these RMS data entities have been split out from ReSA into their own RMS screen. The ReSA screen is now used for managing ReSA administrative data only.

Technical Enhancements

The technical enhancements described below are included in this release.

n        Online Help - ReSA now reference cloud-based online help, which allows retailers to ensure they are referencing the most up to date User Guide content via the Online Help.

n        Introduction of short error descriptions, used by the Error Summary report in the ReSA dashboard.

Known Issues

The known issues described below are included in this release.

Known Issue/Defect

Defect Number

When a page is opened with the contextual area collapsed and then the user later opens the contextual area, the contextual reports will be empty until the user takes some action that would cause the contextual reports to refresh.

24665477, 4668691, 25114546, 25119585

All ReSA users have access to ReSA Dashboard as no dashboard specific security privilege has been defined.
