- If both the peak and average measurements for multiple MPs within a Network Element are consistently near the recommended maximum engineered capacity of an MP, then a Diameter problem may exist that is causing excessive Long Timeout traffic to be delivered to the MP. Looking at these measurements on a time of day basis may provide additional insight into potential network problems.
- If the peak and average for an individual MP is significantly different than other MPs in the same Network Element then an MP-specific software problem may exist (e.g., a buffer pool leak).
