Configure the Global Search Settings

Configure global searches to determine how users view results on the Advanced Search page. Configure caching specifications to show search results for multiple searches or only the latest search.

To configure global search settings:

  1. In the object selector, select Global Admin.
  2. In the sidebar, select Application Settings.
  3. On the Application Settings page, in the Global Search section, complete the following fields:
    1. Recent Items Added Ranking: The number in this field represents the added ranking percentage to add to global search results that were recently accessed by the user. The highest ranking item is displayed first when the user searches.
    2. Number of Days to Consider Items as Recent: The number in this field represents the number of days a search result will be considered as recent.
    3. Maximum Number of Results in Search Results: The number in this field represents the maximum amount of search results per type returned on the global search page.
    4. (Optional) User Multiple Search Caching: Select this option if you want to cache multiple searches per user instead of only the latest search.
  4. Select Save.
