Configure Codes

Codes help you categorize your data objects based on attributes that they share. If you have many instances of an object, codes help you group and filter potentially vast amounts of information spanning different areas of the organization. You can also use codes to arrange objects hierarchically. Configure and assign codes before synchronizing P6 and Primavera Cloud projects.

To add a code to one or more objects in Primavera Cloud:

  1. In the object selector, select a workspace.
  2. In the sidebar, click Summary & Settings.
  3. On the Summary & Settings menu, click Dictionaries, and then click Codes.
  4. In the table, click Add Code .
  5. In the new row, in the Name and ID columns, enter a name and ID for the new code.
  6. In the Applies to panel, select one or more objects to apply the code.
  7. Click Save.
  8. In the Summary & Settings panel, click Close.

You can also perform this task on a single object from the Summary & Settings panel in Primavera Cloud:

  1. In the object selector, select a workspace.
  2. In the sidebar, click Summary & Settings.
  3. On the Summary & Settings menu, click Defaults & Options.
  4. Select the object, and then click the Codes tab.

Note: For more information on configuring codes, refer to the Add a Code topic in Primavera Cloud Help.
