Scenario Comparison Overview

The Scenario Comparison page enables portfolio managers, budget planners, and other stakeholders to view and compare summary-level information about the scenarios during the planning and selection process for a given planning year. Portfolio managers and budget planners use this page to review scenarios while determining which projects to include in the scenarios, and stakeholders use this page during the review process. All groups can collaborate on the scenario using the discussions feature.

Summary-level data may include allocation dates, total role costs, earned value, budget values, and key performance indicators (KPIs). View scenario summaries side-by-side to analyze how the data values change with the selection of projects within each scenario or how the KPIs are performing against target values.

Budget planners and stakeholders can view how a project's proposed budget is allocated in each scenario side-by-side in a bar chart. By selecting a project name, a dialog box appears with a bar chart displaying the proposed budget allocation for the entire planning horizon of the portfolio. The timescale slider can be moved to adjust the bar chart to display only a certain time period.
