Drag and Drop Activities in a List
Some list pages in the application support the ability to quickly move activities and update activity data using the drag-and-drop method as an alternative to cutting or copying and pasting.
You can move activities within their current grouping band or WBS hierarchy, or you can move them to a new one.Activity data automatically adjusts based on the settings of the destination WBS hierarchy or grouping band. For example; while working in a program, you move a selection of project activities to a band grouped by a specific project code. All of the activities in this grouping band also use the same project calendar settings.The activities that you relocate are reassigned that code value, and they adopt the calendar settings shared by the group.

To move activities in a list using drag-and-drop:
- Navigate to the main table on a list page.
- In the table, select an activity, drag it to a new location in the list, and then drop it into a grouping band or new location in the hierarchy.
Hold CTRL+Shift to select multiple activities. Drag them to a new destination, and then drop them.
Drag-and-drop exceptions
- Dates do not automatically update in summary bands, because they are based on other settings. For example, critical dates such as Actual Start and Actual Finish cannot be updated.
- Certain grouping bands do not allow cut and paste or drag-and-drop. Examples include activities grouped by resource names and IDs.
- An activity that is associated with an approved timesheet cannot be moved to a new location.
- An activity that is associated with a work package cannot be moved to a None grouping band.
- If you are working in a program, and grouping by project, you cannot move activities to another project group without the project-level Add and Edit Activities privileges enabled for all relevant projects.
