Customize Task Cards for a Project

Customize Task Cards Video

The Work Plan page and the Hand-offs page support the display of multiple task card types. You can customize default task cards, and apply them to both the Hand-offs page and the Work Plan page. Alternatively, you can create separate task card styles for the two Task pages. The basic task card shows a task's name, type, and status icons. The color of the card indicates the company assigned to work on the task. When the size of the planning board columns is decreased, a smaller, more generic task card may be shown. You can also enable configurable task cards to display task information most important to you. Customize task cards with task fields and status icons. Just like basic task cards, configurable task cards are colored according to their assigned company. See Task Icon Reference.

When configurable task cards are enabled, you can double-click a basic task card to display configurable task information. Quickly rename a task by editing the task name in the card header. When you create a task, the task card will immediately be opened and the name field will be in edit mode. Select a status icon on the card or select a field with an edit icon to modify its value. On non-touchscreen devices, this icon is shown when you hover over an editable field. On touchscreen devices, this icon will always be shown on editable fields. Read-only fields will not have this icon. The right-click menu functions the same for both basic and configurable task cards. Configurable task cards do not support group selection functionality. To customize task card settings for a project, you must have the Edit privilege enabled for projects.

If you want to access all of a task's information, you can select the Task Details icon in the card header to open the Task Details dialog box. When configurable task cards are disabled, double-clicking a basic task card will open the Task Details dialog box directly.
