Configure Task Color Defaults for a Task

This setting will determine the attribute used to color task cards and tasks bars. This setting will be used as the default Color Tasks by setting for new projects and workspaces under this workspace. It can be changed at the project level. Changes to the workspace Color Tasks by setting will not change the Color Tasks by setting of any existing projects.

To set task color defaults:

  1. In the object selector, select a workspace.
  2. In the sidebar, select Summary & Settings.
  3. On the Summary & Settings menu, select Defaults & Options, and then select Task.
  4. On the Defaults & Options: Task page, select the Defaults tab.
  5. In the Task Color section, in the Color Tasks by list, select one of the following:
    • Company: Individual company colors specified at the project level only. At a workspace level, a list of all project companies with randomized colors are displayed. Color associations are read-only. To edit project level settings go to Configure Task Color at the Project-level.
    • Workspace level activity codes: Code value colors specified at the workspace level.
    • Workspace level task codes: Code value colors specified at the workspace level.

Note: Only workspace codes enabled for both the Activity and Task are available for selection in the Color Tasks by list.

  6. Select the color square for a specific code value, and then select a new color from the color selector.

Note: Changes to color associations for code values will affect colors for tasks, activities, and other objects that use these codes across projects.

  7. Select Save.
  8. In the Summary & Settings panel, select Close.
