Link a Constraint to an Aconex Package

A package in Aconex is a collection of documents grouped together for a specific purpose, such as a package of design drawings for a project. Linking a package to a task constraint makes it easier to track document status changes without exiting Primavera Cloud. The Aconex Package detail window enables users managing projects in Oracle Primavera Cloud and in Aconex to link an Aconex package for each task constraint on the Constraints page.

Prerequisites

Before you can link an Aconex package to a constraint, you should ensure that the following prerequisites are completed:

To link a task constraint to an Aconex package in Oracle Primavera Cloud:

  1. In the object selector, select Project, select View Projects List, and then select a project name.
  2. From the Main Menu, select Tasks, and then select Constraints.
  3. In the table, select a constraint, and then select the Aconex Package detail window.
  4. Select the linked Aconex project that contains the packages you need, and then select Connect.
  5. In the detail window, select Link Aconex Package to open the Link Aconex Package dialog box.
  6. Select the project that you need. If you have multiple Aconex accounts linked in Lobby, a new browser tab will open where you can select the account you need. Select the account from the Account Selection list. For users with only one Aconex account, you will automatically be taken to your list of packages.

Note: Ensure that the Aconex account linked to your Lobby account is the same account associated to the linked project in Primavera Cloud, or the project will not display in the list.

  7. Select the package from the list of packages associated with the Aconex project. You can use the search bar or sort by Package Number or Package Title.
  8. Select Link to link the package to the constraint. You can unlink a package using the context menu beside the package title.
  9. After a package is linked to a constraint, you can click on the Aconex package title to quickly open it in Aconex and view the package details. Select Open when prompted to confirm that you will be opening it in Aconex.
