Run the Workflow against a Sample Project Proposal

Note: This topic is part of the Creating a Project Proposal Approval Workflow: Example series.

Now that you have created the Project Proposal Approval workflow and all required forms, you can run it against a sample project proposal to see how tasks appear to performers.

Note: To create a sample project proposal to run this workflow against, you must have security privileges to Add proposals.

To run the Project Proposal Approval workflow against a sample proposal:

  1. In the object selector, select Projects, and then select View All Projects.
  2. In the Projects inventory panel, expand the Add Project list, and then select Proposal.
  3. In the Add Project Proposal dialog box, in the Name field, enter Sample Project.
  4. In the ID field, enter SAMPLE001.
  5. Select Add.

    You should receive a notification that you have been assigned the Collect Proposal Details workflow task.

  6. In your Inbox, select the task titled Workflow Task: Collect Proposal Details.
  7. Select View Workflow Task.
  8. On the Details tab, enter a value for each of the required fields.

    Set the Risk Level field to High, Very High, or Not Identified to send the proposal through the manual approval path of the workflow. Set it to Very Low, Low, or Medium to send it through the automatic approval path of the workflow.

  9. Select Submit.
  10. Return your Inbox to complete the subsequent tasks and reject or approve the sample project proposal.
