Add an Actual Line Item

You can add line items to your actuals as lump sums or individual units to help you track the breakdown of costs. Line items can only be added to actuals with a status of pending.

To add an actual line item:

  1. In the object selector, select a project.
  2. In the sidebar, hover over Cost and Funds, and select Actuals.
  3. On the Actuals page, in the table, select an actual.
  4. In the Line Items detail window, select Add.
  5. In the new row, complete the following fields:
    1. Name: Enter a unique name.
    2. ID: Enter a unique identifier for the actual or use the auto numbering feature.
    3. Type: Select Lump Sum to enter a total or Unit Price to enter individual units prices that will be calculated for the Total Amount of the actual.
    4. If the Type is Lump Sum, enter the total in the Amount field.
    5. If the Type is Unit Price, complete the following fields.
      • (Optional) Quantity: Enter the expected amount of each actual line item needed to complete the required work. If Quantity is entered, Unit Price must be entered.
      • (Optional) Unit of Measure: Select the type of measurement used when determining quantity for the actual line item. This field is only editable for actual line items with a cost category of labor, equipment, or material.
      • (Optional) Unit Price: Enter the price associated with the actual line item. If a Unit Price is entered, Quantity must be entered.
      • (Optional) Hours: Enter the number of hours needed to complete the actual line item.
      • (Optional) CBS Code: Select the CBS code assigned to the actual line item. By default, this field shows a value of No CBS. If you do not enter a CBS Code value here, the actual value will be included in the No CBS row on the cost sheet.
      • (Optional) Cost Category: Select the type of cost associated with the actual line item. Only cost categories with a type of labor, equipment, or material are available.
  6. Select Save.
