Select an Actuals Source

Select actuals sources when you create a project CBS. You can choose whether to include a manual actuals source for your project. In addition, you may also select from one of the other actuals source options such as scope based. If the project CBS has been set up already, you can edit the actuals source from the project Cost Sheet page.

To select an actuals source:

  1. In the object selector, select Project, select View Projects List, and then select a project name.
  2. From the Main Menu, select Cost and Funds, and then select Cost Sheet.
  3. On the Cost Sheet page, select Create CBS.
  4. In the CBS Setup dialog box, select Copy from other to copy an existing CBS, or select Create new. Then select Next.
  5. (Copy from other) Choose the CBS to copy from and Select CBS codes, then select Next.

(Create new) Define CBS Segments, and then select Next.

  6. Select budget source:
    • Budget: The budget allows users to enter costs in the Budget page to be approved.
    • Other Budget Source: The scope-based budget uses costs rolled up from scope items once they are assigned to calculate the budget.
  7. Select actuals source:
    • Confirmed Actuals: Confirmed Actuals allows users to enter or import confirmed actuals.
    • Scope Based Actuals: Scope-based actuals uses the Actual Cost to Date rolled up from scope assignments.

Note You must select at least one actuals source.

  8. Select Finish.

Tip

You can also select the actuals source on the project Cash Flow page. See Configure Cash Flow Curve Sources for more information.
