Import a Project Specification to Scan for Spec Sections and Submittal Items

If you have a PDF project specification that is formatted according to MasterFormat style, Primavera Cloud can scan it and automatically create spec sections and submittal items.

To import and scan a MasterFormat PDF for spec sections and submittal items:

  1. In the object selector, select a project.
  2. In the sidebar, hover over Submittals, and select Submittals.
  3. Select Import.
  4. On the Select Specification step of the wizard, in the Select File field, select the specification that you want to scan.

    You can only choose a MasterFormat-style PDF file for this step.

  5. Select Next.

    Primavera Cloud scans the document for specs.

  6. On the Review & Import step of the wizard, in the Specification Sections and Submittals table, make sure all required spec sections and submittals are included.

    Perform the following steps as needed:

    • Select and deselect submittals for inclusion in the submittal item table on the Submittals page.
    • Modify the Number and Name values of each submittal.
    • Add a spec section or submittal that is not listed in the Specification Sections and Submittals table. Select the Context menu by a row, and then select Add Spec Section or Add Submittal.
  7. Select Import Selected.
  8. Select Save.
