Assign a Location to a Risk

Assigning locations to risks enables you to plot project and program risks on a map. This is useful when determining risk impact size and probability, and whether other risks or nearby projects may also be affected. Risk locations can also be used for charting and reporting purposes.

To assign a location to a risk:

  1. In the object selector, select a project or program.
  2. In the sidebar, hover over Risk, and select Risk Register.
  3. In the table, select the risk.
  4. Select the Location detail window.
  5. Choose an existing location, or enter a new location.
  6. To choose an existing location:
    1. In the Name field, select Select.
    2. In the Select Location dialog box, choose a location, and select OK.
  7. To add a new location:
    1. In the Name field, enter a name for the new location.
    2. Enter the address, and select Locate. Alternatively, you can enter the Latitude and Longitude and select Locate.

      Notes:

      • Input longitude and latitude in the format that is appropriate for your geolocation service. Enter longitude and latitude in decimal degrees or directional designators.
      • Select a country when locating using longitude and latitude to improve results.
    3. To save this location to the Locations dictionary at the workspace level, select Save location for future use.
  8. (Optional) In the Description field, enter a description of the location. The location must be saved for future use to enter a description.
  9. Select Save.
