Select Projects for a Budget Planning Scenario

Select projects to include in budget plan scenarios using tools available on the Budget Planning page.

To select projects for a budget plan scenario:

In the object selector, select a portfolio.
In the sidebar, hover over  Cost and Funds, and select Budget Planning.
On the Layout menu, select  Grid.
(Optional) To view waterline or unmet dependency information, select  Waterline View or  Unmet Dependencies from the Layout menu.
Note: The Unmet Dependencies option is not available for Program View.
To include a project in a budget plan scenario, in the table, select the Project State field to display the  Selected state or  Forced In state. To add multiple projects at once, use Ctrl + click to highlight each project. On the Actions  menu, select Include, and then select Highlighted Projects.
Note: The Forced In and Forced Out states are useful if you have predetermined whether projects are included in the budget plan. These states are also useful if you are using the Waterline View and you want to include or exclude the project in the scenario whether or not the project meets the selected criteria.

The Proposed Budget row now includes the total cost for the project, and the value of the included projects field has increased. As you make selections, the Difference row displays the difference between the Target Budget and the Proposed Budget, which is based on the totals for the selected projects.
Select Save.

Tips

Select  Refresh to run the portfolio filter to ensure all projects are included in the scenario. Refresh the filter on each scenario if you have multiple scenarios.
In the table, expand individual projects to view specific cost curve data such as Capital Portfolio Proposed Budget and Expense Portfolio Proposed Budget.
