Add a Budget Transfer

Add budget transfers when costs need to be transferred to another budget line item. One transfer can capture as many change items as needed.

Transfers can be made between projects in the same program or between programs and the projects they contain.

To add a budget transfer:

  1. In the object selector, select a project or program.
  2. In the sidebar, hover over Cost and Funds and select Budget.
  3. Select the Transfers tab.
  4. On the Transfers tab, select Add.
  5. In the transfer list and the Details panel, enter the information for the budget transfer.

    Complete the following general fields:

    • CBS Code: Select a CBS code for the budget line item.
    • (Optional) Cost Category: Select the cost category applicable to the budget line item you want to transfer from.
    • In the Total Available field, review the amount available to transfer. If there is nothing available to transfer, select a different CBS Code or Cost Category.
    • Select Save.

    In the Details panel, in the From row, complete these fields:

    • Amount: Enter the amount to be transferred from the budget line item. Cost can be entered manually or calculated using the calculation fields below.
    • Budget ID: Select the ID of the budget from which you want to transfer funds.

      If you are adding a budget transfer on a program, use the Show Budget Lines From option to specify whether you want to view budget line items from the current program budget or from projects that are associated with the program.

    • (Optional) Labor Rate: Enter the cost per labor hour of the budget line item.
    • (Optional) Unit Rate: Enter the cost per Unit of Measure of the budget line item.
    • (Optional) Quantity: Enter the expected amount of each budget line item needed to complete the required work.
    • (Optional) Hours: Enter the hours required to complete the budget line item. This field is only editable for budget line items with a cost category of labor.
    • (Optional) Unit of Measure: Select the type of measurement used when determining quantity for the budget line item.
    • (Optional) Production Rate: Enter the number of hours per unit of measure of the budget line item.

    In the Details panel, in the To row, complete these fields:

    • CBS Code: Select a CBS code for the budget line item.

  6. Select Save.
