Scheduling/Leveling Log
The Scheduling/Leveling log displays the results of the resource or role leveling process that runs from the Activities page. Because the leveling process automatically schedules projects, the scheduling/leveling log also contains the scheduling results that are available in the scheduling log. The log includes the process start and finish times, the selected scheduler and leveler settings, project statistics, process results, and warnings that require attention. The leveling log also displays errors that cause the leveler to fail. The leveler might fail if the process detects a loop in the activity relationships. A loop, or circular relationship, occurs when an activity relationship leads back to an earlier activity in the activity sequence. If the leveler fails because of a loop, then the scheduling or leveling log lists all activities in the loop, starting at the beginning of the relationship logic. To resolve the loop, return to the Activities page, view the relationship trace logic for the activities in the loop, and remove a relationship. If you’re working in the context of a program, the log lists the projects in the program that were leveled.
You can set the leveling log to display after the process completes when you run the process from the Level dialog box on the Activities page. In the dialog box, select View Log to display the log from the most recently run process. You can also access leveling logs from the notifications panel or the Manage Services page.
