Reviewing and Releasing a Submittal as a General Contractor or Construction Manager Using the Form Editor and Integrated PDF Editor
When logged into Submittal Exchange, select a project and go to the appropriate log. The submittal items that require your attention will appear in red.
- Select the description of the submittal you are reviewing. A dialog box appears.
- Verify all information filled out by your Subcontractor is correct. Make any necessary adjustments.
- Select the Form Editor icon. The form editor dialog appears.
- Complete the form information.
- Select the PDF editor with previous file icon.
- This will launch the PDF editing tool with Java. Within the first page select Continue.
- Select Run in the dialog box.
- After Java is installed, the file will open. Use the editing tools at the top of the screen to add comments and markup the document.
- When finished, select Save. The Submittal Exchange Form Editor dialog box displays the file name.
- Select Save and send. Your reviewed file uploads and an email notification is sent to the Final Reviewer.
- The cover/transmittal page that you filled out using the Form Editor is merged with the submittal item and placed as page 1 of the merged document.
Notes:
- If you do not have Java installed on your computer, you will be prompted to install it the first time you use the tool.
- The speed of PDF editor is based on the size of your document, the speed of your internet, and the speed of your computer.
- The cover/transmittal page that you filled out using the Form Editor is merged with the submittal item and placed as page 1 of the merged document.
