Returning Submittals to Subcontractors

When logged into Submittal Exchange, there are two options that can be used to return submittals to subcontractors.

Option 1 - Submittals are fast-tracked and the system returns email notification simultaneously to the General Contractor/Construction Manager and the Subcontractors.

Note: This is controlled by selecting Reviews Completed email for the Subcontractors on that section.

To set this option:

  1. Select the Project Team tab.
  2. Select one or more of the users under the Subcontractor table.
  3. Choose Edit above the Subcontractor table. An Edit Team Members screen appears.
  4. Next to Email Notifications, select Reviews Completed.

Option 2 - The General Contractor/Construction Manager receives an email notice that the final review is complete. The General Contractor releases it to the Subcontractor after the final review.

  1. Select the Project Logs tab.
  2. Select the red submittal line or the Return link. A dialog box appears.
  3. From the dialog either:

    Select the option to Email PDF to subcontractor

    or

    Select Record in log, no other action.

  4. Select Save.

    Note: When using Option 2, ensure that on the Project Team tab none of the Subcontractors have Reviews Completed selected as the Email Notification option.
