Path: From the Administration menu, select Inventory, select Accommodation Management, and then select Room Maintenance
Rules: You can enter up to 8 letters and/or numbers when setting up new Room Maintenance Codes.
Prerequisites: In the OPERA Controls Room Management group, the Maintenance function must be active. You must have access to the following user tasks: Inventory Admin - Manage Accommodations - Room Maintenance - New /Edit Room Maintenance and Inventory Admin - Manage Accommodations - Room Maintenance - Delete Room Maintenance.
Room Maintenance codes may be assigned to rooms when creating a work order that have issues requiring maintenance attention — heat, air conditioning, or plumbing problems, for example.
In a multi-property environment, room maintenance codes are created on the template level and then copied to each property. To be consistent among all hotels in the environment, best practice is to reuse existing codes for new hotels in an existing setup or agree on universal codes for all properties.
To add new Room Maintenance codes:
Select the Template tab.
Click New
Enter the Property, the new Code, and a Description of the code. Enter a sequence number by entering it in the field, or using the plus and minus buttons, and if desired, mark the new code as Inactive.
Click Save.
