Searching and Creating Promotion Codes

  1. From OPERA Cloud Administration menu, select Financial, Rate Management, and then Promotion Codes.
  2. On the Promotion Codes screen, select a Property and click Search. The search table with existing search results for promotion codes appears.
    If logged in at property level, the property field is defaulted. If logged in at the hub level, the field is blank and you need to select a property.
  3. To create a new promotion code, on the vertical ellipsis, click New. On the Promotion Codes screen, fill in the Required Fields. Required fields are marked with an *.
  4. Click Copy to copy the details to the template.
  5. Select the Upgrade Allowed check box if the room is eligible for a room upgrade.
  6. Select Update Outside Booking Dates check box to edit a reservation with this promotion code after the booking date has passed.
  7. In the Attached Rate Codes panel, click New and list of available Rate Codes appear. Select a rate code that needs to be attached to the respective promotion code and click Save or Save and Continue.
    You can use this feature to make specific rates available when a promotion code is attached to the reservation.
  8. Click Template to create a generic template form.
    You can create codes on a generic template and then have the option of copying the codes to a single, multiple, or all properties attached to the HUB location. This generic template simplifies the repetitiveness and time spent on initial property data entry.
  9. In the search results table, click on the vertical ellipsis to edit or delete the existing promotion codes.
    Fields Description
    Property Property for which a promotion code is created. This field is visible when you log in at a hub level.
    Code An alphanumeric code for the promotion. This code cannot be changed once the promotion code is saved.
    Group The promotion group that the promotion code belongs to.
    Description Enter the description of the promotion.
    Booking Start Date Define the selling start date to determine the time frame this promotion code is active.
    Booking End Date Define the selling end date to determine the time frame this promotion code is active.
    Stay Start Date Enter the arrival date.
    Stay End Date Enter the departure date.
    Check-in Time Enter the check-in time.
    Check-out Time Enter the check-out time.
    Upgrade Allowed Select this check box if the promotion is eligible for a room upgrade.
    Update Outside Booking Dates Select this check box to edit a reservation with this promotion code after the booking date has passed.
    Category Enter a category for the highlighted promotion code. You may enter any information, such as the membership program or level. This field is informational only and the system does not perform any validation.
    Description Enter the description of the promotion.
    Instructions Enter one line of information. This information is displayed only when the promotion code is viewed.
    Information This is the extra information that further describes the promotion code.

Copying Promotion Codes

  1. From OPERA Cloud Administration menu, select Financial, Rate Management, and then Promotion Codes.
  2. To copy a promotion code, click the vertical ellipsis, and then click Copy. On the Promotion Codes screen, fill in the Required Fields. Required fields are marked with an *.
    To copy a promotion code and associate it with a property, select the Template option button. The Template - Copy Promotion Codes screen appears.
  3. In the Configure Parameter panel, select Promotion Code and Target Property and click Save.
    The selected Promotion Code and Target Property appear in the Review and Copy Codes panel.
  4. Click Copy and Continue.
  5. On the Confirmation panel, Status shows Complete and Status message as Copy Template Code(s) was successful.
