Setting Up the Microsoft Edge Browser

You should set up your browser for the following capabilities.
  1. Allowing pop-ups:
    Pop-up blockers prevent pages from loading in the browser.
    1. Click the more options icon (three dots) on the browser.
    2. Select Settings.
    3. Select View advanced settings.
    4. Switch Block pop-ups to On.
  2. Enabling report printing:
    You must set up Microsoft Edge as the default PDF viewer.
    1. Open Control Panel from the Start menu of your computer.
    2. Click Default Programs.
    3. Click Associate a file type or protocol with a program.
    4. Scroll and click Choose default apps by file type.
    5. Scroll the list of file types until you find .pdf and then click the default App name associated with .pdf.
    6. Select Microsoft Edge.
    7. Close Associate a file type or protocol with a program and then close Control Panel.
  3. Clearing cache:
    Browsers store elements of web pages to speed up the loading of the web page during your next visit. On occasion, you might need to clear your Microsoft Edge browser cache to enable OPERA Cloud upgrades.
    1. Click the More Options icon (three dots) on the browser.
    2. Select Settings.
    3. Click Choose what to clear and select items to clear such as Browsing history, Cookies and saved website data, Passwords, and so on.
    4. Click Clear.
    5. Switch Always clear this when I close the browser to On if you want the browser to clear your selections automatically.
  4. Making OPERA Cloud your home page in Microsoft Edge:
    The home page appears in the browser when you select the home icon on the toolbar.
    1. Click the More Options icon (three dots) on the browser.
    2. Select Settings.
    3. Click the Open Microsoft Edge with drop-down menu.
    4. Select A specific page or pages.
    5. Enter or paste the OPERA Cloud home page URL into the text field.
    6. Click OK to confirm.
  5. Adding bookmarks:
    Bookmarks, called favorites in Microsoft Edge, are saved links to web pages.
    1. In the URL field of the page you want to save, click Favorites (a star shaped icon).
    2. In the name field, keep the default name or type a different description.
    3. Select a folder or create a new folder to save the page
    4. Click Add.
