Oracle 6.4 TB NVMe SSD v2 Device with RL04 Hangs when Deleting Namespace

Bug ID: 30971111

Issue: Oracle 6.4 TB NVMe SSD v2 storage drives with VDV1RL04 firmware stop when using the nvme delete-ns command to delete a namespace.

The following screen shows a namespace delete stop for Oracle 6.4 TB NVMe SSD v2.

Affected Hardware and Software:

Oracle 6.4 TB NVMe SSD v2 storage drives with VDV1RL04 firmware on supported X7-2L series servers. See Supported Servers and Operating Systems.

Workaround: Do not use nvme delete-ns command on X7-2L servers with system firmware release 3.0.1 or earlier. Use nvmeadm commands to delete a namespace.

Fix: Update SPARC servers to system firmware release 9.9.3 or later.
