You can implement Federated or Security Assertion Markup Language-based single sign-on (SAML SSO) for Siebel user interfaces. In this solution, the user's single authentication token is trusted across multiple applications.
The use cases for implementing Federated or SAML SSO for all supported interfaces are as follows:
Federated or SAML SSO for interactive user interfaces. For more information, see "Federated Single Sign-On Authentication Process for Interactive User Interfaces" and also "About Configuring Interactive User Interfaces for Federated Single Sign-On".
Note: You can use any Web application server and gateway in this process. |
Identity provider-initiated SSO. In this case, the portal application links to Siebel REST and Web services. The portal acts as an identity provider (IdP) and initiates the federation. For more information, see "Identity Provider-Initiated Single Sign-On Authentication Process".
Note: For Siebel REST, you can use any identity provider (IdP) or gateway solution from any vendor. For more information, see Siebel REST API Guide. |
