This chapter provides an overview of the
Policy Management system and its components. The major components include:
- The Oracle Communications Policy Management Configuration Management Platform (CMP) system controls MPE devices and associated applications.
- The Multimedia Policy Engine (MPE) device manages multiple network-based client sessions.
- The Multi-Protocol Routing Agent (MRA) device maintains bindings that link subscribers to a Multimedia Policy Engine (MPE) devices.
- The Mediation server provides the interface between a Subscriber Profile Repository (SPR) server and a business and operation support system (BOSS) client to manage subscriber data. The Mediation server uses SOAP messaging over HTTP/HTTPS protocol to process subscriber profile and service subscription data.
- The Oracle Communications Policy Management Network Configuration Management Platform (NW-CMP) is the multilevel network approach to the Policy Management system.
