To create a VIM connection:
- From the NF Management section of the navigation pane, select VIM Connections.
The VIM Connections page opens; the initial group is VIM Connections.
- From the content tree, select the VIM Connections group.
The VIM Connections page opens.
- Click Create VIM Connection.
The Create VIM Connections page opens.
- Enter a Name for the VIM connection.
The name can only contain the characters A through Z, a through z, 0 through 9, period (.), hyphen (-), and underline (_). Note: Once saved, the VIM Connection Name cannot be changed.
- (Optional) Enter a Description for the VIM connection.
- Select the VIM Type from the list.
Available options include:
- OpenStack API—Indicates the connection will use the OpenStack API
- OpenStack Heat —Indicates the connection will use the OpenStack Heat API
- VMWare vCloud—Indicates the connection will use the vCloud API
- Enter the Host name.
Enter an IP address or the FQDN of the VIM host.
- Enter the Port number.
This is the port to connect to the VIM host. Enter a number from 1 to 65535. A typical port number is 5000.
- (For OpenStack VIM types) Select to use a Secure Connection.
If enabled, the connection will use an HTTPS connection to encrypt the connection.
- Enter the Username.
- (For VMWare) Enter the Organization.
- (For OpenStack VIM types) Enter the Tenant name.
- Enter the Password.
Select Show Password to view the password in clear text.
- Click Save.
The CMP server saves the VIM connection to the database.
