· New Features in This Release
· List of Bugs Fixed in This Release
Following is the list of features incorporated in this
release. For detailed information on usage of these features, refer to OFS CAP User Guide
8.0.1.0.0 in OTN

Enhancements in Basel Applications
1.
Attribution
Analysis
The functionality of Attribution Analysis aims at analyzing the impact of various attribution variables on the change in RWA and capital ratio of the bank across two runs. The runs can be a quarter apart or even a year apart. This functionality helps the risk analysts of the bank to increase RWA or capital ratio decrease by providing them with a causal analysis of various control factors in the categories such as Credit Risk, Market Risk, Operational Risk, and Capital Structure.
2. Unhedged Foreign Currency Exposure (UFCE)
Due to the volatility in the exchange rate movements
in the current economic scenario, the foreign currency exposures that are held
by any party become an area of concern, especially if they are unhedged. These
exposures may in turn impact the capacity of such parties to fulfill their
credit obligations towards the banks and hence result in default losses and an
erosion of health of the complete financial system. To resolve this issue, RBI
has suggested changes in provisioning and capital requirements due to Unhedged
Foreign Currency Exposures (UFCE). These guidelines are applicable for all the
counterparties to which bank has a credit risk exposure.
3. Standardized Approach for Counterparty Credit Risk (SA-CCR)
BIS has come up with guidelines for Standardized
Approach for Counterparty Credit Risk (SA-CCR) which replaces Standardized
Method (SM) and Current Exposure Method (CEM) under Standardized Approach for
Credit Risk capital computation.
4. Basel Capital Value Chain Analysis
The functionality of Basel Capital Value Chain
Analysis is aimed at enabling the user to understand the processing, massaging,
and other actions taken on the data that was given by them as input to the
solution. This functionality also aims at displaying the value and the lineage
of data top down, that is from the Total Capital Ratio till the source where
the data first hit the solution. Capital Value Chain Analysis tries to detail
the value addition in the data.
Enhancements in
Economic Capital Advanced Application
1. Capital Structure
This functionality is mandatory for the banks since
they need to maintain the capital as per Basel guidelines. The OFS Economic
Capital Advanced is updated to comply with the latest Basel III BIS guidelines,
which defines capital as CET1, Tier 1, and Tier 2 Capital.
2. Securitization
This functionality is mandatory for the banks since
they need to maintain the economic capital as per Basel guidelines. The OFS
Economic Capital Advanced is updated to comply with the latest Basel III BIS
guidelines.
3. Non Securitization
The securitization transactions which are backed by
non-financial assets or by operating companies, are excluded from the
securitization treatment. They are instead treated as non-securitization
exposures. OFS Economic Capital Advanced uses Product Processors to calculate
the non-securitized exposures.
