Download a File

Download a file to access it offline. Files that are attached to your activities and tasks are automatically downloaded to your device when the project syncs, but you can individually download any other project file that you have access to. During a project sync, file attachments that are 5MB or less automatically update on your device, so that you don't have to wait longer for all of your project data to fully sync due to large files. Files that are larger than 5MB need to be manually downloaded.

To download a file:

  1. Navigate to the Project Home screen.
  2. Tap the Files tile.
  3. On the Files screen, select the Browse tab.

The Browse tab shows files related to the project. In order to see all of them, including those you haven't downloaded yet, the app needs to be online and connected to your Primavera Cloud server.

The Download symbol shows which files have not yet been downloaded. The Downloaded symbol shows which files have been downloaded.

  4. On the Browse tab, find the file that you want to download. If the Download symbol appears in the file row, tap Download, or tap anywhere on the thumbnail to begin downloading the file. A progress indicator displays on the file attachment thumbnail during the download process. Once the file has been downloaded to your device, the thumbnail displays the Downloaded symbol.

After the file is downloaded, it appears in the two other tabs on the Files screen:

    • Recent: Shows all of the files that you have accessed since the beginning of last week. It may be divided into Today, This Week, and Last Week sections. Which files appear in each section depends on when you last viewed them.
    • Offline: Shows all of the files that have been downloaded. It is divided into two sections: The Downloads section shows files that you downloaded. The Attachments section shows attachments in activities or tasks, which are downloaded automatically when the project syncs.

Note: In some circumstances, an attachment might fail to download, and you will receive an error message.

      • If you lose network connection, a download may fail to queue, or it might fail entirely. Try again when a network connection becomes available.
      • If your device has insufficient space, automatic and manual downloads might fail. Delete unnecessary files and try again.
